Membership Information

Thank you for your interest in membership in the South Carolina Asphalt Pavement Association (SCAPA)!

SCAPA offers three membership tiers:
  1. Producer Member:

    Open to firms with active operation of one or more plants in South Carolina, which manufacture asphalt-paving materials

  2. Major Associate Member - Material Suppliers:

    This tier is designated for suppliers of materials most commonly found in the asphalt industry, primarily asphalt cement and aggregates 

  3. Regular Associate Members:

    This level is divided into three subcategories of companies who provide products and/or services that benefit and support the asphalt industry.


Associate members may apply for membership online using the forms below. Prospective members may attend the Winter Conference and Trade Show in February; all other events and programs are for SCAPA members only

New Producer Member

The Producer membership level is reserved for those companies that produce asphalt mixes and operate one or more plants in South Carolina.  Producer members each have one designated representative who hold a seat on the SCAPA Board of Directors and have one vote in association affairs.

Major Associate Member - Material Suppliers

Thank you for your interest in membership in SCAPA!

SCAPA Associate Membership level is broken into two tiers:  Material Suppliers and Regular Associate Members.

Annual membership dues are $7,500 for all Material Suppliers.

Material Suppliers are described in SCAPA's Membership Policy as:

Products and services materially related to the asphalt industry, and significant facilities and operations commonly found in the asphalt industry, to which a Material Supplier might manufacture, produce, engage in and/or provide as contemplated by this policy, include, but may not be limited to: 
  • Asphalt Cement
  • Aggregate

Join as Major Associate Member - Material Suppliers

Regular Associate Member

SCAPA Associate Membership level is broken into two tiers:  Materials Suppliers and Regular Associate Members.

Annual membership dues are $2,000 for all Regular Associate Members.

Regular Associate Membership level is divided into three subcategories of companies who provide products and/or services that benefit and support the asphalt industry.

I.  Other Suppliers

Examples of items that Other Suppliers might manufacture, produce, engage in and/or provide in relation to the asphalt industry include, but are not limited to: 

  • Equipment Dealer or Manufacturer
  • Other Bituminous and Related Chemical Suppliers
  • Safety and Traffic Control Devices and Equipment
  • Construction Technology Solutions, Applications, & Software

II.  Subcontractors

Examples to which an applicant may qualify as a Subcontractor hereunder include, but may not be limited to: 

  • Safety and Traffic Control Contractor
  • Milling Contractor
  • Pavement Marking Contractor
  • Erosion Control Contractor
  • Guardrail Contractor

III.  Support Industries

Support industries preferably include the provision of any specific service that, in some respect, is unique and necessary for the asphalt industry.  Generic professional services that relate to any manufacturing industry may not qualify, unless such applicant demonstrates a significant focus of practice related to the asphalt industry. Significant focus of practice related to the asphalt industry might include evidence related to number of hours, staff, or gross revenues related to the provision of services to the asphalt industry. Examples of activities and services to which an applicant may qualify as a Support Industry as contemplated in this policy include, but may not be limited to: 

  • Engineering Firms
  • Contract Bonds and Construction Insurance Services
  • Accounting Firms
