SCAPA wants your QC/QA Data!

SCAPA has officially signed a contracts with Headlight Technologies, Inc. to develop a new data warehouse to store all asphalt mix production data in regards to QC/QA. We are still in the first phase of this contract that requires Headlight to develop a program using AI to pull information from our everyday QC/QA workbooks used to collect production data required by SCDOT and other contracts. The new software will extract information from 10's of thousands of documents from everyday PDFs (originally MS Excel Workbooks) that the producers store on their laboratory PC or perhaps on internal databases. The reason for this data collection is to start a secure warehouse of this data for future specification development and to be later used as a everyday QC tool at the asphalt plants. This tool will allow the QC Managers access to the data to make more informed based decisions and improve our asphalt mixtures in SC. SCAPA staff will be asking for volunteers to get this off the ground in the coming weeks ahead. There will likely be a few webinars-calls and eventually a training seminar with Headlight in the first several months of the 2025. SCAPA is very excited to get this much needed tool off the ground in 2025. Additional features of this software will include the future option to develop web-based entry of QC/QA data, mix designs submittals, collection of EPDs (from NAPA), and other tools to improve overall workflow of daily operations.
